Mike Swann
Dad just emailed me a link from the Otago Daily Times saying that Mike Swann is up against serious fraud charges.
Mike was one of the people who went way out of his way to teach me the ropes when I was first learning Unix and trying to build Earthlight's infrastructure. I still have fond memories of him sitting in front of our Sun SPARC SLC, trying to teach me the basics of IP subnets. In retrospect, he had the patience of a saint.
For what it's worth … I wish you the best Mike, and I hope some of that good karma comes back around.
Update 5 Feb 2011: Going back over old stories, it looks like this didn't have a happy ending for anybody.
