Free Networks

Free Networks by Adam Shand

FreeNetworks was formed in 2000 by an informal collective of the early community wireless organisations on the west coast of the United States, of which Personal Telco was an original member. From there it grew into an organisation which helped organise and represent community wireless groups all over the world.

A FreeNetwork is any computer network that allows free local transit following the guidelines of our peering agreement (see also the Wireless Commons Definition and the Pico Peering Agreement).
